Establishing Your Own Personal Style

by guestcontributor on May 9, 2012

Making your own style, reinventing your closet, or even just repairing and making the most of what you have is a slow process. The thing about good fashion sense is that, you can’t just simply walk out your house and be completely different and stylish in a day, it just doesn’t work that way.

There are many different factors that need to be considered, and some people to look up and listen to. If it helps, you can ask your colleagues, friends, your partner, but nine times out of ten, you will still find yourself back at the start, lacking direction or confidence.

The way to a stylish refinement is strenuous and demanding, everyone has to start somewhere, be it a fashion magazine, TV show, friend’s advice, etc. The rule of thumb here is to not jump way too far ahead, as changes that really need to come from giant leaps.

Reinventing your style also doesn’t mean clearing your closet out. If you can’t afford to throw your favorite shirt or trousers, you can always keep it.

Think of where you style is going, and how far you want to refine yourself before you start spending all your money for a wardrobe upgrade. Your idea of style might change in the process, and you may find that suits you better than your original idea, this would be a great time for you to rethink of your style.

In fashion, refinement is always better than change. There’s no need for an overhaul, what you need to make the things you know better. Fashion is not just about looking good; it’s about feeling good of both yourself and being comfortable of what you’re wearing.

Ideas and Tips for Mother of the Bride Outfits

by admin on December 22, 2011

Mother of the Bride OutfitsAre you looking for wedding outfits and are you unsure of what to wear?  It can be a stressful experience if you do not know what to wear so if you find yourself in a state of mind where you are completely clueless, maybe these tips will help you determine your outfit.

Where to get ideas from?

You always know if you are the type of women who likes bright colours or if you are more into neutral colours. Some outfit suppliers are very much focussed on the bright colours whereas others aren’t, so make sure that when you pick up your catelogue, that the sort of outfits that are displayed in the catelogues are coherent with your taste. Another source of information is of course the internet. There are plenty of e-commerce websites that sell mother of the bride outfits and they range from very expensive to very cheap, depenidng on your budget. Make sure they’ve got international shipping, before you start looking for outfits in order to prevent you from getting hugely dissapointed.

Some styling tips

Blending different colours is an art by itself and if you are unsure of which colours go together, then keep it one colour. This bluebird shift dress is elegant and would go with some nice pair of black heels. The dress is made from textured fabric and lined in soft luxury satin. It is figure-flattering tailored shaped and could be combined with a black blazer or this bluebird soft sheen jacket. This jacket has waist detailing, nigth sky satin piping and long sleeves with slit cuffs. You can wear it for going to your daughter’s wedding and other occasions, so there is no need to leave this hanging in your wardrobe, after having worn it for one time.

When you buy your outfit, make sure that it is not too tight. You’re daughters day will be special but also long lasting, so find something that is loose-fitting and feels comfortable.

I hope this post has given you some food for thought and that your experience in finding the right outfit to wear for your daughter’s wedding, will be a great one!
